1970's - 80's
The youngest of four, Javier Constantino Rivera was born in Waspam, Nicaragua in 1976. When Dr. David F. Rivera O. moved to the United States (Stevens Point, Wisconsin) to complete his doctorate degree around 1979, the rest of the Rivera family soon followed. A year later they moved to Kenosha where Javier grew up and lived for over 25 years.

Rivera Family (1980s)
Throughout his childhood, Javier was always interested in television, art and music. He had an eclectic range in everything arts. He enjoyed music ranging from classic composers to heavy metal bands. It was his open mind that helped nurture his creativity.
1990's
Javier became interested in film and video when he was in high school where he took his first television production course. In 1994, he studied for two years at the University of Wisconsin Parkside where he became friends with his English Professor, Julie King; both shared an interest in filmmaking.

Jav (2001)
In 1996, Javier transferred to Columbia College in Chicago where he majored in Film and Video with a concentration in Editing. By his second semester, he met Raziel Ortiz (Animator) and Craig M. Krason Jr. (Cinematographer). Raziel has worked with Javier as co-writer, animator, music composer, and graphic designer. Craig has been cinematographer for several of Javier's films including What Went On Inside and award-winning documentary The Scare.

In early 1999, Javier contributed as Assistant Director and Music Composer for Julie King's first film Worlds. By May that year, Javier received his Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College Chicago.
2000's
In 2000, he moved to Milwaukee to work as a freelance editor, primarily for Owen May at Metro Video Services. During this time, Javier also owned and operated Poyo Video Productions.
A few years later, he moved back to Kenosha where he worked for Kenosha Unified School District No. 1 and in the summer of 2003 began studying at Carthage College in the Teacher Leadership program. In the spring of 2005 he received his Master of Education degree.

Jav (2007)
In the summer of 2005, Javier moved to Austin, Texas to pursue his filmmaking career. After only a few months, he was hired as Training Specialist for Public Access Community Television (PACT) and as Editor for Wolf Stuntworks.
In May of 2006, Javier's band, Tino Ghost released the debut album entitled "From the ground" (more information available at TinoGhost.com).

Shortly afterwards, Javier had been promoted to Director of Promotions and Post for PACT. Javier was also hired as Editor for Big Plume Productions' 48 Hour film, Hidden Places. This project introduced Javier with future collaborators: Dustin Cross, Aaron Hallaway, and Tara Felmly. In October all three worked on Javier's production of Access News.

Dusty
In March of 2007, Javier was offered the Television Production Specialist position for Austin Independent School District where he oversees productions and post.

Craig, Aaron, Jav
A few months later, Javier worked with Craig M. Krason Jr. and Aaron Hallaway on a commercial for Heinz Ketchup.

Jav (Chicago, 1/2007)
Javier continues to compose new music for Tino Ghost as well as edit, direct, shoot and produce for several production companies including his company Gasoline Productions.
